Our Story

The winery “Poderi Parpinello “and the vineyard were born from the Parpinello family passion for vines and wine; a love that has grown over three generations. The company has one main goal: to implement years of professional experience in the cultivation of high quality grapes and to produce wines of particular flavours and characteristics. To do this the company utilizes the most modern winemaking technology available today, with the aim to maintain the respect for the typical and unique nature of the wines, while at the same time reinforcing the connection to the Sardinian territory.

Our Region

Sardegna (Sardinia) is an island region located west of the Italian peninsula across the Tyrrhenian Sea from Lazio and just south of the French island of Corsica. Its capital and largest city is Cagliari in the south. Tourists know Sardegna best for the trendy beaches of the Costa Smeralda on the northeast tip. In the wine world, Sardegna is best known for red wines made from Cannonau and white wines made from Vermentino. It has 1 DOCG, 17 DOCs, and 15 IGPs. Sardegna’s wine production fluctuates considerably from year to year, and 2020 was below average at 600,000 hl (6.7 million cases)—it had the lowest yield of any Italian region on its 26,709 ha (66,000 acres) of vines. More than two thirds of the region’s wine is at the DOP level, and it currently makes more white than red. The region’s primary grape varieties are Cannonau (35%) and Vermentino (28%).

Our Vineyard

The company is currently run by father Giampaolo Parpinello and son Paolo, who together cultivate over 15 hectares of vines, soon to be increased to 20 upon completion of the plant. The cellar is located in the locality named Janna de Mare and is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards that stretch out on a terrain of calcareous marne, conglomerate and sandstone, the perfect combination to ensure excellent quality wines. We implement the newest innovations in our cultivation methods, with respect to tradition and the ecosystem of our geographical location. The most important factor, however, is the creativity, passion and extensive experience of over 50 years in Sardinia of the oenologist Giampaolo Parpinello.
